What other services do you offer?
We provide a number of additional "optional" services, such as home made Italian cooking (if you are lucky even home made pasta), breakfast, laundry, airport pick-up, car rental, motor-scooter rental, if you provide a list we can also stock the fridge with food and beverages for your arrival. If you have any special requests, just ask.
How far is the apartment from the beach?
As you can see from the photos taken from the terrace we are very close to the beach. It takes about two minutes to walk to the beach. Don't confuse the beach of La Boquilla with that of downtown Bocagrande. Here the beach is safe for children, clean and there are no persistant peddlers.
Where is La Boquilla?
La Boquilla is a barrio of Cartagena and is situated just 5 minutes north from Cartagena's Airport (Nuñez) in Crespo. From the airport it takes about 5 minutes to reach the old walled city of Cartagena and about 8-10 minutes to reach Bocagrande.
What can you tell me about La Boquilla?
La Boquilla is a traditional, colorful fishing village that over the years has grown to a population of about 12,000. Each day it is possible to watch the small fishing boats return with their catch and even purchase some of the freshest, cheapest fish you will ever find. La Boquilla boasts some of the best beaches in Cartagena that are clean, safe for children and non-swimmers and are not plagued by insistant beach peddlers. From here it is possible to participate in some interesting eco-tourism boat tours of the mangroves or just simply relax in a hammock with a cold beer in one of the many bar-restaurants that line the coast.
Is it safe, we've heard many stories about Colombia?
I have been living here for more than two years and have had no bad experiences, at least nothing worse than everyday Europe (I am from Italy). Cartagena is probably one of the safest places in Colombia and you will certainly return home in one piece. However, like anywhere else, you don't want to find yourself alone in the small hours walking along a dark alley. Be safe and don't flaunt expensive watches, electronics, and jewels - just as you wouldn't at home. Common sense = safety.
Are your prices per person or per night?
The rates we publish refer to a per nigh basis for the apartment - maximum four people please.
Are there taxi's in La Boquilla?
You can get a taxi here from anywhere in Cartagena, however it is not easy to find a taxi from here to the old town or Bocagrande. However there is a regular bus service, which takes about 25 minutes to reach the town. It costs just 1,200 pesos. For those interested we also have a car rental (Suzuki open-top 4x4) as well as motor-scooter rental. In short, it isn't difficult to get around and enjoy your vacation.
Can I bring girls to the apartment?
We are sorry, but we try to upkeep a family style apartment and whilst we understand that many tourists wish to have "fun" we do have a policy of no external guests allowed. We hope you understand.
